Natural Insect Control For Your Garden
As the weather starts to warm, insects begin growing in numbers. You want to enjoy the beautiful weather, but you want to do it insect-free.
Before you purchase insect repellent, consider keeping these critters around:
- Spiders are on most people’s list for worst pest, but most gardeners know spiders are your best friend. Non-poisonous spiders are the perfect natural pest control because they eat insects that sting/bite, transmit bacterial diseases from plant-to-plant, or other insects that invade the soil.
2. Ladybugs, or more properly Lady beetles are another well-known and perhaps more loved insect. They are so great for natural pest control that some gardeners order them online and place them in their gardens! They feast on aphids, which are insects that drink plant sap.
3. Last but not least are Praying mantis. These kung-fu killers of the insect world ambush their prey, other insects and crickets that like to munch on your plants.
Before you pull out the insect repellent, consider these garden-friendly bugs.
